DGW Client Services

“The most important thing to do if you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging.” - Warren Buffett

Diogenes Group of Washington (DGW) provides clients research-based work product designed to withstand scrutiny from competitors, media outlets, and political opposition. DGW believes in the value of exploring alternative approaches and contrarian viewpoints in order to identify the optimal strategies and outcomes for clients. DGW identifies precisely what clients wish to achieve, conducts market/opposition/political research to understand what other parties want to achieve, and then develops strategies and work product based on our research. Our communications strategies, research reports, and intelligence briefings address the immediate needs of clients and contain forward-looking qualitative and quantitative analysis to protect the ongoing interests of clients. DGW believes in operating as both a provider of services and in an advisory capacity to clients. This approach allows DGW to help clients navigate current issues and identify future opportunities or challenges and be fully prepared for either.

Communications and Business Strategies

“Stories come along. And stories are the king. And you go ahead and try to tell them the best you can. But it's not just an intellectual art form. It's an emotional art form.” - Clint Eastwood

DGW agrees with director Clint Eastwood - Story is King. Our work with communications clients begins with the understanding of narrative. Industry associations and corporations must have a governing narrative woven throughout their communications, political advocacy, corporate governance, and customer acquisition efforts. Absence of a governing narrative creates uncertainty, chaos, and the urge to "rebrand" or "rethink" fundamental questions about the company or industry every 6-12 months. DGW's greatest strength with respect to communications strategies is understanding both the intellectual elements of it (economic benefits, jobs creation, etc.) and the art form of it (evoking a positive emotional response from people). In developing client narratives, DGW always incorporates the business goals of our clients.

DGW offers customized communications strategies and services for all clients, our services include:

  • Developing industry or corporate narratives that further business and communications goals.
  • Research briefings on opposition/competitor narratives.
  • Writing - press releases, strategy memos, website material, corporate statements, etc.
  • Auditing existing communications operations.
  • Opposition research.
  • Research for rapid response and crisis communications campaigns.

DGW has established a network of contacts that our clients utilize to gain valuable insight into potential upcoming legal risks, upcoming negative media coverage, and how policy debates will ultimately play out over time. This is a true edge for the C-Suite executives we serve.
